2011 American Shetland Pony Club Modern Sweepstakes

Hello and Welcome to the Modern Sweepstakes.

The committee is undergoing new members and we are steadily working on making some changes to the Sweepstakes.  We are currently accepting Stallion Nominations for the 2011 Auction.  Foals resulting from  this auction will be bred in the 2012 season and shown at the 2013 ASPC Congress. 

The 2011 Auction will be held at the ASPC Shetland Congress

July 12-16, 2011

Iowa State Fair Grounds, Jacobson Exhibition Center, Des Moines, Iowa.

We will be trying something a little different for bidding this year.  We are going to offer a silent auction which will be set up for viewing and opening bids July 12th, the silent auction will run the duration of the show and will conclude July 16th at 2pm.  We hope that by offering the stallions for the duration of Congress it will give everyone time to view the profiles of each horse, and place their bids on paper.  The bids will start out at $200 per horse.  We will also accept maximum bids via email, mail or telephone call with increments of $25.00. 

We are super excited about this Modern Sweepstakes Auction as  ASPC held its first Shetland Congress in Des Moines, Iowa in 1947.  We plan to make this a great year for the Sweepstakes and get it back on track with a single location.  Unfortunately we can not at this time say where the 2013 ASPC Shetland Congress will be held but will update as we know.
